Film 2007...No spoilers!

I don't think I've ever seen a time when so many great films are out...

Here's a brief run down of my top recommendations...

Set about 25 years in the future where human kind has lost the ability to have children this follows Clive Owen who basically doesn't give a toss about anything or anybody and is stuck in a rut...

His ex contacts him to do her a little favour and the movie explodes from there...

Trust me, without giving anything away, apart from the plot, this is a believable vision of England in the future. It starts off pretty pedestrian, but it's amazing all the way through.

Released on dvd today!!!

Next up:

Yeah, yeah, I, know...

Rocky battles impossibles odds to show the true courage of human spirit blah, blah blah...

Only reason I mentioned this, is because it ends the whole Rocky series very well and on a high note. Erase crappy Rocky 5 from your minds as this is a lot better.

Mimicking the state of boxing today, the champ is failing to inspire the masses, with his hand-picked defences meaning he's defending his title with relative ease. When a tv show does a virtual comparison as to the outcome of a fight between him and Rocky at his peak, he doesn't like the result...

Low budget, realistic, sentimental it's worth a look.

Released at the cinema Jan 19th.

What a movie this is...

I absolutely hate musicals, but this is done in such a way that it's very good. In fact I didn't even realise it was a musical until about half way through...

With such stars as Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover and Beyonce the stand out performance here is by Jennifer Hudson, who apparently came 4th in American Idol or something. I'm not sure how she lost and Macy clone Fantasia won. She has an absolutely amazing voice and can act too.

This is a fictional story of a group (The Dreamettes) and their rise to the top. It's loosely based on the Supremes, and shows how fame and fortune can make as well as break friendships and relationships.

Jennifer Hudson is probably a shoe in for an Oscar. Can't think of anyone else who can touch her performance in this film.

Opens 2nd of February.

Here's a little taster

Before we start...

I hate Leonardo Dicraprio! So for a film with him in it to be on here means he's done well. Basic premise of the story is we follow Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) as he gets kidnapped, seperated from his family and forced to work in a diamond mine in Sierra Leone (conflict Diamonds)

He discovers a large pink diamond, which he hides. The story is then a race against time for him to re-unite with his family and escape the impending war which will cause chaos in the country. He happens upon smuggler and general soldier of fortune Dicaprio.

Excellent story, excellent cast, and harshly shows the boy soldiers of Africa and how they're indoctrinated at an eraly age to be killers.

In cinemas January 26th...

Hip Hop is Dead...

Thank god for Nas then...

After being unimpressed by Jay-Z, Fat Joe and Snoop's latest albums, I was hoping that Nas would stay true to form and release something worthy.

He's dropped another album worth listening to and he's got some notable friends this time around.

Jay-z (!) The Game and Kanye drop some verses in various songs and Nas can always be relied on to make you think about what he's saying. He give props to the missing innovators of Hip Hop and take's shots at the soul-less bling rappers of today.

Obviously the biggest news is that Jay-z has finally linked up with Nas after their public fall out. Jay addresses their history, how they were close and how they fell out.

Album released December 19!

Exclusive pre-listen here:

Black Republican (feat. JAY-Z)

Not his best, but way ahead of most of the stuff I've heard recently 8/10.

Song of the Week...

I know this one's been out a few months, but it's been featured on the latest Sound of the Pirates album by DJ Cameo.

As the kids would say, this one's 'Grimey'

Wiley returns on his own this time and all the better for it.

No drizzle, just sizzle....fo' shizzle!

Well, considering how dull and grey it was on Saturday, thankfully it stayed dry. Thanks to everyone who came and helped me test out my new Barbecue.

All the kids enjoyed themselves which was the main thing, and I've got loads of booze left over too...Bonus!

I've named the barbie the "Meatman 10000", and he did 50 burgers, 32 sausages, 20 chicken kebabs, 10 minted lamb kebabs and 10 minted lamb chops. He did me proud...until I came to cleaning the bitch.

Took me an hour using that stuff Ainsley said would make it easy, lying git!
